Caregiver Group Spotlight: Vanessa Roberti in Southern Oregon

Hi, I’m Vanessa Roberti, and I’m proud to be a caregiver with Caregiver Group, Inc. I’ve always had a very nurturing personality—it’s just part of who I am. I’m originally from New York, and I come from a big, loving family. I’m the 7th of 9 children and have more nieces and nephews than I can count! Living far away from them has been tough, but caregiving fills that space in my heart. It gives me purpose, connection, and so much joy.

To me, caregiving is about so much more than just helping someone with daily tasks. Most of the people I work with are in the final years of their lives, and it’s truly a blessing to be part of that time with them. I believe my attitude brings a sense of comfort and security to my clients. I love making them laugh—I’m a bit of a jokester—and seeing them smile or hearing a good belly laugh from them makes my day.

Working with Caregiver Group, Inc. has been such a gift. As an independent contractor, I feel more in control of my environment and the way I care. There’s a sense of integrity and appreciation here that I’ve never experienced in other jobs. In a lot of agencies, you’re just a body filling a shift. Here, I feel valued—not just by the company, but by the families too.

One of the most memorable moments for me is with a gentleman I care for who has dementia. There’s nothing quite like walking in the door, having him recognize me, and hearing him say he loves me. That kind of connection is what keeps me going.

I can’t say enough about Stephanie Parsons, the owner of Caregiver Group. She’s always available, always willing to step in, and she truly goes above and beyond for both clients and caregivers. I actually worked with her in a different profession before, and I feel incredibly lucky to be working with her again. She leads with heart.

This is actually my very first job as a caregiver, and I knew right from the start that it was the perfect fit. What also sets Caregiver Group apart is the pay structure. I’m paid more than I would be at a traditional agency, and families pay less—it’s a win-win. That kind of fairness motivates me to give even more to the people I care for.
